Lax LAX

Well, we're here. A long journey and some very frustrating times at LAX.

A little sustenance first after a very enjoyable farewell with Cheryl, Alan, Tone and Judy in Sydney. Our chariot awaits!

Can throughly recommend Virgin Premium Economy! Great food and very comfortable all the way to LA.

A little celebration to get the show in the air!

LAX was a frustrating disaster! Flight on time, terminal filled with every traveller on the planet trying to get through Immigration! 3/4rs of an hour later we had less than an hour to catch our connecting flight to Minneapolis! Tried to check our luggage in at the International terminal but the whole system was down and out with alarms ringing everywhere, Sent to Terminal 3 - "no not today you need terminal 2 "they said! Got there after a long trek with all our luggage and the welcoming crowds fraught our efforts to catch our flight again. Managed to force our way through the mass of humanity and get boading pases with 15mins to go and then some overenthusiastic security scanner decide Anne's hand luggage full of Aussie treats needed further examination - 5 mins to go. I went down to the gate and convinced them Anne was not far away and we boarded last and late, perspiring, angry and unimpressed with lax LAX!

An uneventful 3 hour flight to Minneapolis wherewe were welcomed by Phil and a great surprise in the twins. A pacifying coffee and home to recover.

We're praying for a white Christmas and there has been earlier snow as the (poor) shot from the plane on landing approach below shows. Still hoping, as todays forcast is for snow on Christmas day and a few days after. Bring it on!

A frosty and snowy welcome.
