BRUGGE - BRIDGES AND BREWERIES

Our first full day in Brugge. The city is a maze of canals and little boats that meander amongst the medieval buildings. Many were built in the 11th century and have the traditional stepped gables. We took a canal trip, it was a great experience and gave us a good understanding of the city's history and layout.

Along the way Belgium's most famous brewery was passed, we couldn't resist the temptation to visit in a city famous for it's beer.

of the family have used.

or dark, it was good!
They currently have four of their beers rated in the world's top ten!

There's more than beer to Brugge, one of the only Michelangelo sculptures outside of Italy, and the only one to leave there in his lifetime, is in the local cathedral and there are plenty of carriage rides around the cobbled streets and alleyways.
