Bonjour Quebec

So, so french! We are staying in the old walled part of the city. There's been heavy snow and it is a truely white fairyland. Quaint homes, shops, churches and hotels. The narrow streets wind their way through town. It's been quite warm - 0 degrees, and you need to be careful to avoid snow and ice slipping from the roofs onto the paths below.

A welcoming Christmas decoration - snowy but still festive!

Town carriage rides past our hotel - immediately behind the carriage!
We noticed later the horses had spiked shoes to cope with the ice and snow!

Some icicles ready to pierce the unsuspecting pedestrian!

A short walk around town this morning - the Fairmont Hotel with Anne and Chrissy's fur hat!
She has loaned it to Anne and has worn it here previously.

Ice skating nearby

A great way to learn!

Keeping warm while watching the skating!

A quiet coffee and some warmth while we watched on.

Some ice hockey practice in the park opposite

Just passed by - an Indian with two huskies. Set up camp to garner donations!

St Anne St!

Taking a break while we work out which of the dozens of restaurants to have dinner in tonight.
A great variety of cuisines to choose from too! Italian last night which was great.
