Grand froid dans Quebec

In any language it's tres froid here!  Minus 9 but feels like minus 20 with wind chill. Went out a little under prepared so returned for another layer! Treacherous on the steeper footpaths - the roads less slippery but more dangerous with cars! Returned safely!

Spotted a lovely looking Boulangerie for brekky yesterday so visited this morning. Lovely light brekky of croissant and a snail for Anne with cafe au lait.

Spoilt for choice.

We did the old walled city yesterday, so ventured down to the quayside to explore a little today. Really narrow quaint streets full of tourist shops and restaurants. Great views looking up to the old ramparts from the quay.

Looking up to the magnificent Fairmont Hotel

A long way down - and back up!

It's quite amazing to see braziers through the city with groups huddled around them for warmth. Today a group with dogs and a bottle of champagne to help warm the soul!

Brazen at the brazier!

And ... for lunch the famous Poutine ... (french fries with gravy and cheese pieces)

and french onion soup!

So, back to our lovely hotel for a break while we decide where to go for dinner!

  3. The French onion soup looks so good! We are quite a way from soup weather. I'm glad Mum got a snail :)
